What does the Holy Qur'an say about.... Women O mankind! reverence Your Guardian Lord, Who created you From a single Person, Created, of like nature, His mate, and from them twain Scattered (like seeds) Countless men and women - Fear Allah, through Whom Ye demand your mutual (rights) And (reverence) the wombs (That bore you): for Allah Ever watches over you. --4:1 From what is left by parents And those nearest related There is a share for men And a share for women, Whether the property be small Or large - a determinate share. --4:7-8 O ye who believe! Ye are forbidden to inherit Women against their will. Nor should ye treat them With harshness, that ye may Take away part of the dower Ye have given them - except Where they have been guilty Of open lewdness: On the contrary live with them On a footing of kindness and equity. If ye take a dislike to them It may be that ye dislike A thing, and Allah brings about Through it a great deal of good. --4:19 Say to the believing men That they should lower Their gaze and guard Their modesty: that will make For greater purity for them: And Allah is well acquainted WIth all that they do. And say to the believing woman That they should lower Their gaze and guard Their modesty; that they Should not display their Beauty and ornaments exept What (must ordinarily) appear Therof: that they should Draw their veils over Their bosoms and not display Their beuty except to.... --24:30-31 Back |
