Karaoke Activity
Procedure:
Assign each group of students a different section of the
topic being studied and ask them to research the material and extract the most
important and relevant concepts, facts, personages, etc. and to put those into
a song using their creativity.
Make sure it is clear that the rhyming
of the song and other song-writing details are secondary to having all the
important concepts clear in the song.
After the students have written their
songs, ask them to present it to the class (sing it) to the karaoke CD
provided.
After they have sung the song, ask them
to explain the lyrics to the class so that the entire class is clear on the
concept.
If possible, type out the song and give
each student in the class a copy.
